Never ask Her....

Bet on anything and woman of this age will give you a run for money, they are competitive as anyone else on the planet and the way world is going ahead they are fast catching ahead in the race. Only one word which makes any woman fumbling is “Her age”, I have grown up with cardinal rule No. 1--Never ask a woman her age.

Ask a woman’s age and it makes them feel like they are in a race--a race where there are no rules but plenty of unwritten measures like wrinkles, white hair, obesity and above all looks. I haven’t taken up chance of asking anyone's age!! Have you ever seen a woman telling her age? When she did, and if you didn't reply, "Girl, you look good," she would look at you strange. Yeah today’s woman are more scared of their looks then the other side effects of ageing like marriage and kids.

The aspiration of women to look young is not a new phenomenon then why this sudden realization and outcry over ageing. Few days back I was watching a television program and the expert commented that women should dress younger and they will not only look younger, they will feel younger too. Wow what a simple solution to the most complex problem. Are they satisfied with this? Be it television/magazine BEFORE and AFTER advertisement has been painted all over but no one is going to buy it whole heartedly.

In contrast Men believe “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter” and when they get gray hair, they consider it sexy and distinguished while woman on the other hand rinse it with rainbow colors. Men consider potbelly as a playground while women aspire to have Size 0. Wrinkles add to the macho effect of men “Wrinkle brings on Dimple/s” while it add on extra monthly budget on cosmetic (anti-ageing) for women.

Bottom line is that Men lives for wild moments while Women still has a hard time saying to the world that I am (blank)-3 years old. I am perplexed who knows ageing can be a bigger virus than Cancer for some :-)
